QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Car accident care: your questions, answered

Quick answers about Florida PIP, the 14-day deadline and your first visit. Still not sure? Call or text us and we’ll walk you through it.

Do I need a lawyer to be seen?

No. You can start treatment without an attorney — we bill your auto insurance (PIP) directly. If you hire a lawyer later, we’ll work with them, and we also accept letters of protection (LOP).

How soon after the accident should I come in?

Within 14 days. Florida PIP only pays if your first medical visit happens within 14 calendar days of the crash. Whiplash and back pain often show up a day or two later, so don’t wait to see how you feel. How the 14-day rule works.

Who pays for my treatment?

In Florida, your own PIP pays first, no matter who caused the crash. PIP covers 80% of reasonable medical bills. You may qualify for up to $10,000 in benefits if a licensed medical provider determines you have an emergency medical condition (EMC); otherwise benefits may be limited to $2,500. What an EMC evaluation is.

Do you take my insurance?

For car accidents, we bill PIP directly to your auto insurer, including GEICO, State Farm, Progressive and Allstate. We also accept most health insurance plans and letters of protection from your attorney.

What should I bring to my first visit?

I was a passenger, or I don’t own a car. Am I covered?

Often, yes. If you own a car, your own PIP covers you as a passenger in any vehicle. If you don’t, PIP from a relative you live with may cover you. If no one in your household has PIP, the insurance on the vehicle you were in may apply. Call us and we’ll help you figure out where to bill.

I already went to the ER. Should I still come in?

Yes, if you’re still hurting. An ER or urgent care visit within 14 days counts as your first medical visit for PIP. Bring your discharge papers so we can pick up where they left off.

Do you offer chiropractic care?

Yes. Our North Miami Beach clinic offers chiropractic care alongside physical therapy, so both are part of one treatment plan. Chiropractic care after a car accident.

How long will my treatment take?

It depends on your injuries. After your evaluation, your therapist will give you a plan — how many visits a week and for how long — and adjust it as you improve.

Do you speak Spanish or Haitian Creole?

Yes. Our team speaks English, Spanish and Haitian Creole.

Can you help me get to my appointments?

Yes, transportation is available. Ask about it when you call.

Can you give me legal advice?

No — we’re a medical clinic. Questions about fault, claims or settlements are for an attorney. You don’t need one to start treatment.

Where are you, and when are you open?

Our North Miami Beach clinic is at 760 NE 167th St, North Miami Beach, FL 33162. We’re open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8am–7pm and Tuesday and Thursday 9am–7pm, and closed on weekends.
